Mk 18 Mod 0
The Mk 18 Mod 0 is a M4 or M16 with a Close Quarter Battle Receiver (CQBR) instead of the original upper receiver. This allowed for a firearm the size of a submachine gun with the ability of firing a rifle cartridge. The receiver, developed by the U.S Navy, shortens the barrel to 10.3 in (262 mm) making it easier to maneuver in and around vehicles or tight spaces.
While there is no standard configuration for the Mk 18 Mod 0, a few variations have become common among the U.S military.
